Spring Data is a SpringSource project that abstracts data access layer code for CRUD (create, read, update, delete) operations for relational databases and NoSQL datastores. With Spring Data Repositories, it makes it easier to build Spring-based applications where the data access layer consists of interfaces with finder methods defined as per convention. The appropriate implementation of the data-access interface is used at runtime. Spring Data is an umbrella project with many subprojects associated with specific databases and datastores.

Naveen VK is a software developer with almost 14 years of industry-wide experience in developing J2EE applications. She is a Principal Architect at NVISIA LLC.
